At that time one of the famous Islamic personalities, callad “Sidi Mohamed El Kantaoui” established his residence on a hill in front of the sea in the north east of the town.
The name of “Hammam” (bath) provides from the historical and archaeological monuments which indicate that a “Hammam” in an Arabic architecture is located in the eastern part of the town called “the medina” the history of this bath referes to the 9th Hegire century, at that time, the users of the “Hammam” came from the town of Sousse.
The citizens of Hammam-Sousse have an origin, the pioneers of them made from “Hommet El Ksar” (the city of the palace) their first residence. Their homes were set-up from white sand extracted from a valley called “Bathet essouk”
